Downtown Newport, Rhode Island

Downtown Newport is a huge tourist draw. In the summer, crowds are unavoidable. Little shops line the streets, ranging from big name brands to little mom and pop stores. Downtown is filled with restaurants, small shops and fantastic views. Explore the different piers because most are open to the public.

While walking is not the issue, parking might be. We used on the lots on hand rather than chancing it with street parking. Prices range from $10+.

Tips
Walk down America's Cup Ave and Thames Street for some sweet shops. Some are big name brands and some are cute mom and pop shops. I got salt water taffy as souvenirs from one of the shops.
