It’s not often that one raves about the views from a hotel but with the lobby at 40 stories from ground level, the Element Kuala Lumpur by Westin offers fantastic views of the city, almost rivaling the Petronas Tower. Emphasis on almost.

Prior to booking, we were unaware that the hotel, situated in the Ilham Tower, would offer such amenities, or at least I was. My sister did the booking and went ahead as I struggled with some luggage. I rounded the corner expecting to find a hotel lobby but instead found a bank of elevators. Delightfully, this hotel offers a full service dining area that is delicious albeit slightly pricier than other eateries and street food in Kuala Lumpur. The pool offers great views of the city and one could watch the sun set while soaking.
