Palacio de Viana in Cordoba, Spain
Palacio de Viana or Viana Palace is a now museum whose name originates from its last owner, the Marquisate of Viana. It boasts lush gardens, intricate stonework in the twelve courtyards, and well-kept historical rooms. Visitors can take a self-guided tour following their leaflet or opt for a guided tour. In 1425, Ruy Fernández, Lord of Fuentecubierta, purchased a set of late medieval houses which makes up the main body of the palace. As time went on, eighteen different owners would add their own tastes, styles, and influences. The home has seen a lot of history and it wasn’t until 1980 that the III Marchioness of Viana, allowed for the acquisition of this property for public interest. The Palace today is managed by the Cajasur Foundation and sees many visitors who delight in the maze of buildings and gardens.
