Nightlife
BUSTLING METROPOLITAN CITY WITH LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR NIGHTLIFE
Day 1
9:00 AM - Start towards the southern end of Old Montreal and walk down Notre-Dame St W. There are a lot of restaurants and shops along the way, so feel free to pop in for a quick bite of breakfast. We’ll turn down St Laurent Blvd but you can also go down Rue Saint Jean Baptiste (one street over) or St Gabriel St (two streets over) and explore to your heart’s content. This gives us a feel for Old Montréal, the historic district which has gone through renovation and preservation efforts. A stark contrast from the cold steel of proper downtown.
10:00 AM - Stop by the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, a wonderful architectural beauty with a rich history.
11:30 AM - We suggest a quick stop at Délices Érable & Cie for some small treats (maple syrup on a stick, ice cream, or a warm drink) and if desired, some souvenirs.
12:30 PM - Lunch time, so slowly meander your way down towards Place Jacques-Cartier via St. Paul Street E. A friend recommends Jardin Nelson but you can also go straight to Bonsecours Market for shopping and eating in an indoor setting for a budget friendly choice.
2:00 PM - Explore the Old Port of Montréal, as much or as little as you’d like. There are tons of options for the adventurous (zipline, ropes course) to the less adventurous (ferris wheel, shops and food vendors) and the paths are pedestrian friendly.
3:00 PM - Walk down along the pier and pop back over to the streets of Old Montréal and stop at the Centre d’histoire de Montréal to learn a bit more about the city and its people. Allocate about two hours.
5:00 PM - Day 1 ends.
